2018 NLSC Registration Information Packet

Advisors please be sure you are referencing the National Technical Standards for competition preparation including the contest updates posted by nationals.

Contestants must take the National SkillsUSA Tie-Breaker Exam prior to attending the conference. The online exam dates are April 20-May 27.

Note all forms and payments will be turned into the SkillsUSA Tennessee state office. The
state director will process registration and hotel arrangements as group for Tennessee.

Advisors: You are not required to mail the CTSO Release Form in with your registration, you only need to have completed copies for each attendee with you at the conference in the case of an emergency.

Fourth Street Live Wednesday evening:
The admission to Fourth Street Live on Wednesday evening requires a SkillsUSA conference name badge and a SkillsUSA shirt. The outside perimeter is open to the public. Another option for anyone who does not have a name badge is to take advantage of local restaurants that are open and have outdoor seating.

Change to Chapter of Distinction Reception:
Thursday, June 28, 2018 — Exceptional growth in SkillsUSA’s Chapters of Excellence
Program (CEP) has resulted in a change at the National Leadership and Skills Conference.
What was formerly 100-Percent Advisor and Chapter of Distinction Reception will now solely honor chapter advisors who have received a Chapter of Distinction status (bronze, silver or gold).

Meet the Employer Event Added:
Friday, June 29, 2018 — From 10 a.m.-3 p.m., SkillsUSA will be hosting Meet the Employer in the West Hall of KEC. Over 50 employers from every sector will be on site to promote career opportunities with their companies. All NLSC attendees are invited to stop by to interact with eager potential employers. Educational sessions will also be available to help attendees learn more about career opportunities and enhance job-seeking skills. Students are required to bring copies of their resumes. Admission is free for NLSC attendees. More information can be found here.
