Paul Adler Service Award

The process of nominating a candidate for the Tennessee SkillsUSA Paul Adler Service Award is:

  • Complete the online nomination form for the SkillsUSA Tennessee Paul Adler Service Award.
  • All nominations must be received by  December 15th to be considered. The Paul Adler Service Award recipient will be recognized at the Tennessee SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference in Chattanooga during the opening session.


The nominee must:

  • Reflect beliefs, values, attitudes, and emotions that motivate actions in SkillsUSA
  • Demonstrate innovative and motivational leadership
  • Have served at least 10 years in SkillsUSA
  • Be a member of SkillsUSA (Types of Memberships: Active, Professional, Alumni, Honorary Life)
  • Exhibit exemplary behavior in regards to the SkillsUSA Code of Conduct
  • Provide SkillsUSA with unpaid service for at least 500 hours
  • Familiar with the SkillsUSA Opening and Closing Ceremonies

During state officer led screening, the nominee must be able to:

  • Recite the SkillsUSA Creed
  • Recite the SkillsUSA Pledge
  • Recite the SkillsUSA Emblem’s parts and meanings
  • Recite the SkillsUSA Colors and its meanings
  • Recite the SkillsUSA Programs of Work
  • Recite the SkillsUSA Motto
  • Recite the Official SkillsUSA Attire for both women and men
  • Recite the year SkillsUSA began
  • Recite where the first SkillsUSA conference was held
  • Recite the year of the name change from VICA to SkillsUSA
