The SkillsUSA Tennessee 2017-18 Chapter Advisor Guide serves as a one-stop-shop for all of your SkillsUSA Tennessee needs. You should print parts of this document, or save it on your computer, and return to it when questions arise. The manual is an in-depth guide that will walk you through a host of situations, and processes that you will need to make this year a success. The purpose of this guide is to make your life as a SkillsUSA advisor easier. Please read the guide carefully, and use it for your benefit.

You will see this manual contains a SkillsUSA directory, membership affiliation information, conference registration information, deadlines, calendars, links to forms, and more. Make sure to invite a state officer to your chapter meetings to promote the organization, and provide workshops for your students. Visit the Competition Information section of this document to explore all of the different competitions aligned with your Career Cluster, as well as new contests offered at the regional championships and State Leadership and Skill Conference. Also, be sure to participate in the 2016-17 SkillsUSA Membership Campaign. Finally, explore the opportunity and process for running a candidate for state office. High quality state officers are vital to ensuring the organization’s long-term success.
